Pastelist Karen Baker CPS PSA
“The most exciting aspect of the painting experience is the creative process itself: that spontaneous flow of energy working through the artist, condensed into form. Each one of my paintings is a momentary pause in the ongoing expression of who I am…”
Karen Baker is an award-winning artist whose colorful images reflect an inner dialogue with the spirit of nature. Her portfolio covers a range of subject matter including seasonal landscapes of northern New England, marshlands and waterways of the South, the remote land masses of the Florida sugarcane fields and the Everglades, still-life “portraits” of fruits and vegetables, favorite florals, and the prolific Poppy Series.
She is a member of Vermont Pastel Society, Southwest Florida Pastel Society, and Pastel Society of Tampa Bay, and a Signature Member of Connecticut Pastel Society and Pastel Society of America. She is also a workshop instructor in plein air landscape painting and the creative process. Her artwork is represented by galleries in New England, Delaware, and Florida.
