Hold a BFA Degree from the Kansas City Art Institute where I majored in painting. I had a number of one person shows between 1990 and 2004 in New York City, and participated in many group, invitational and juried shows in the tri-state area. I have been in exhibitions in the Tampa Bay Area since moving to St. Petersburg in 2004.

In my work I try to communicate and stimulate emotions, memories and universal shared responses to images of places and things. I collect doors, shutters, windows, bricks and other thrown away objects that appeal to me. I then search through my "treasure trove" until I get a feeling, an idea and I make a piece. Sometimes I combine painting or photography into the piece, or it may be made up of just objects.

A critic once said of my work...."Her work transforms found window frames into evocative and poetic visual statements. While windows, doors and shutters function abstractly in some of her minimalistic pieces, in others they give way to painted architectural and landscape images that have a particular autobiographical resonance for the artist. One of the most remarkable aspects of Snyder's art is how seamlessly she manages to merge matter of fact materiality with elements of illusion to make compelling and coherent visual statements."
