The Exhibiting Society of Artists

The basis of my work is the human experience through time and space. The ancient traditions and myths, are in essence the same struggle of man between his birth and death.

My work is influenced by the Aztec Mythology. Every day new studies bring more cultural attributes to light and give us better understanding of the vanished cultures of the Americas.

I interpret these myths in paintings and sculptures. I use different media; my favorite is acrylic on canvas or amate paper. Amate is a paper made out of tree bark, hand made only the Otomi Indians of San Pablito, Mexico. They have made Amate for centuries, for their rituals and magic practices. Amate is a special support for my paintings for its unique qualities and amazing history.
